' The foregcir~ prevailing wage schedules are b2scd upon a working day of eight (8) hours, and in the event that laborers, workmen or mechanics are employed less than eight (8) hours per day, the rate of per diem wages shall be deemed to be that fraction of the foregoing rates that the number of hours of employment bears to eight (8). U~idder's attention is called to the above m~mtioned Statute which will require them, if awarded the contract, to pay not less than said general per diem rate of wages set forth in said resolution hereinbefore mentioned, to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics employed, in the eRecution of the proposed contract. The bidder must submit with his proposal a satisfactory check certified by a responsible bank and payable to the order of the City of Santa Ana, or a bidder's bond for an amount not less than ten (lC) per cent of the aggregate sum of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed contract if the ss me is awarded to him, and in event of f~lure to enter into such contract said check or bond shall become the property of the City. The amount of the bond tc be given to secure a faithful performance of the contract for said work shall be twenty-five (25) per cent of the contract price thereof, and an additional bond in an amount equal to fifty (SO) per cent of the contract price for said wor$ shall be given to secure the payment of claims for any materials or supplies i~mished for the performance of the work contracted to be done by the Contractor, or any work or labor of any kind done thereon and the Contractor will also be required to furnish a certificate that he carries compensation insurance covering his employees upon work to be done under contract which may be entered into between him smd the said City for the construction of said work. The work is to be done in accordance with the profiles, plans, and specific~.tions of the City of Santa Aha approved by City Council of said City for doing said work, which are on file in the office of the City Engine¢.r, Room 201 of the City Itall of Santa Ana, California. Copies of the plans and specifications will be furnished upon application to the City Engineer for which a deposit of ten dollars ($10.00) will be required. The deposit will be refunded upon the return of plans and specifications. The Board of T~lstees of the City of Sant~ Aha reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
