The minimumwage paid to all intermediate labor, for which rates are not shown above, shall not be less than $1.228 per hour. The minimum wage paid to all unskilled lsbor, for which rates are not shown above, shall not be less than ~l.18 per hour. Overtime-- one and one-half (1~) times the above rates. Sundays and holidays (except watchmen, guards and flag- men) one and one-half (l~) times the above rates. The foregoing prevailing wage schedules are based upon a working day of eight (8) hours, and in the event that laborers, workmen or mechanics are en~ployed less than eight (S) hours per day, the rate of per diem wages shall be deemed to be that fraction of the foresoing rates that the number of hours of employment bears to eight (8). In accordance with the provisions of Section 1777.8 of the Labor Code as amended by Chapter 971, Statutes of 1939, and in accordance with the regulations of the California Apprenticeship Council, properly indentured apprentices may be employed in the prosecution of the work. The bidder must submit with his proposal a satisfactory check certified by a responsible bank and payable to the order of the City of Santa Ana, or a bidder's bond, for an amount not less than ten (10) per cent of the aggregate sum of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed contract if the same is awarded to him, and in event of failure to enter into such contract said check or bond shall become the property of the City.
