196 <br /> <br />pipe shall discharge into the top and above the line of dis- <br />charge of a suitable closed tank or condensor, made of wrought <br />or cast iron or cement, provided with a relief pipe of at les'st <br />three (~) inches in diameter, extending to the outer air above <br />the roof. The waste from such tank or condensor shall be provi- <br />ded with a trap which shall have a seal of not less than twenty- <br />four (24) inches. <br /> <br /> SECTION 44 - WATER HEATED TO OVER 140 DEGREES: Water <br />heated to over one hundred and forty (140) degrees Fahrenheit <br />shall not be allowed to enter any street sewer, drain or lateral. <br />¥~hen ~ny blow-off tank discharges water at a temperature higher <br />than one hundred ~nd forty (140) degrees it shall be provided <br />with an efficient cooling device sufficient to reduce the tem- <br />perature of such water to less than one hundred and forty (140) <br />degrees Fahrenheit. <br /> <br /> SECTION 45 - HYDRAULIC ELEVATORS: Every hydraulic <br />elevator, lift, or pressure machine shall be provided with an <br />intermediate t~nk or plumbing fixture of sufficient capacity <br />to discharge its waste without pressure into any sewer, drain, <br />soil or waste pipe. <br /> <br /> SECTION 46 - REFHIGEHATOR WASTE: No waste pipe from <br />~ny refrigerator or receptacle in w~ich provisions are store <br />shall be connected with any drain, soil or waste pipe. The <br />waste nipe from each such refrigerator, refrigerating plant, <br />water motor or any similar an~]iance shall discharge over a pro- <br />perly water suoolied, trained ~nd vented sink not more than four <br />(4) feet ~bove the floor, ~nd placed in a room easily accessible. <br /> <br /> SECTION 4V - FIXTURES SEPAR/~TELY TRAPPED AND VENTED: <br />Except as provided in Section 64 hereof, every water closet, <br />bath tub, lavatory, laundry tray, sink, washing machine or <br />other plumbing fixture shall have its waste pipe connected to <br />the soil or waste line and shall be separately, independently, <br />~nd effectively tr~Doed and vented. Each trap must be placed <br />as near the fixtures as possible, and in no case more than two <br />(2) feet therefrom. <br /> <br /> SECTION 48'- COMBINATION FIXTURES: Combination plum- <br />bing fixtures sdch as a sink and laundry tray, washing machine, <br />bath tub end lavatory, or ~ny similar two-piece fixture may be <br />installed, provided that each fixture in such combination be <br />seDarately tranoed and vented. <br /> <br /> SECTION 49 TRAPS: Every fixture trap shall be pro- <br /> tected from siohonage ~nd air circulation assured by means of <br /> a vent or back vent pipe. <br /> <br /> Every trap Shall be so installed that the water seal <br /> will protect the tr~p screw from sewer air. <br /> <br /> Every trap shall have a water seal of at least two <br /> <br /> (2) inches. <br /> <br /> <br />
