Huseth, <br />Variance) <br /> <br />Communication was read from the City Engineer advising that improve- <br />ments within the boundaries of Tract No. 1623 have been completed, <br />and on motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Lateen and carried, <br />bond filed by Melody Homes, Inc., in the sum of $27,000.00, was <br />ordered released and improvements within Tract No.. 1623 accepted as <br /> <br /> completed in accordance with plans and specifications. <br /> # <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, the <br />.request of Rettew and Company that a 30-foot section of curbing in <br />front of 116 East Sixth Street, which is now used as a red-curb zone, <br />be designated as a loading zone, was referred to the committee on <br /> <br /> curb usage for recommendation. <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, <br /> communication from Aaron R. McDaniel relative to damages to his d~ive- <br /> way and sidewalk at 1044 West Pine Street due to the installation of <br /> a stor~ drain by Nick Guho, contractor, was received, filed and <br /> referred to the City Engineer. <br /> <br /> On motion of CoUncilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, <br /> communication from John L. Sentesy relative to damages to his property <br /> at 1042 West Pine Street, in the sum of $192.15, due to the install- <br /> ation of a.storm drain by Nick Guho, contractor, was received, filed <br /> <br /> and referred to the City Engineer. <br /> . <br /> On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Lateen and carried, the <br /> claim of Fred H. Smith, im the sum of $36.50, for alleged injuries <br /> sustained when he tripped on a broken section of sidewalk on the east <br /> side of Broadway at Eighth Street, on July 16th, 1953, was referred <br /> <br /> to the City Attorney and Insurance Carrier. <br /> . <br /> On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Lateen and carried, Revised. <br /> Tentative Map of Tract No. 1925, submitted by College Crest, Inc., <br /> consisting of 111 lots bounded on the west by English Street, on the <br /> north by 15th Street, on the east by College Avenue and lying approx-i! <br /> imately 204 feet north of Washington Avenue, was tabled until August <br /> <br /> 10th, 1953. <br /> # <br /> Communications were read from Minnie M. Wild, 636 North Ross Street, <br /> protesting the purchase of additional property for public improvements <br /> west of Ross Street and from Mrs. Anna M. Smith, 626 North Rose Street, <br /> protesting the purchase of additional property for the Library site, <br /> and on motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Larsen and carried, <br /> <br /> the communications were received and filed. <br /> # <br /> A petition was read signed by eight property owners in the 1400 block <br /> South Hesperian Street.stating that on May 18th, 1953, the Council <br /> approved a variance submitted by Oliver E. Huseth to operate a clean- <br /> ing establishment at 1323 West Edinger Street and provided three <br /> restrictions which the owners of the property has not complied with. <br /> On motion of Councilman Dahl,eeconded by Lateen and carried, the <br /> petition was referred to the Chief Building Inspector. <br /> <br /> <br />
