The project included two and half miles of <br />protected bike lane facilities along various streets in the City's downtown area. This project was one of <br />the first protected bike lane projects of this magnitude in Orange County. The project consisted of bike <br />signals, pedestrian walkway improvements, traffic calming features, ADA improvements, signing and <br />striping, and landscape and irrigation design. The project involves <br />creating solutions for street beautification, <br />traffic safety, walkability, bike circulation, <br />environmental sustainability, security, and <br />neighborhood amenities. The project also <br />includes the design to replace over 1.5 miles <br />of water and sewer lines including over <br />200 laterals while working around the utility <br />constraints in the area.
