Comm. <br /> <br />In Re <br />Communication <br />Mrs. J.P.McCowan etal <br /> (traffic hazard) <br /> <br />consisting of 111 lots, was referred to the Council as a whole for <br /> <br />further study. <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, a <br />petition signed by 201 voters and/or property owners, protesting the <br />approval of the recommendations of the Planning Con~ission to zone <br />the area bounded on the north by Delhi Road, on the east by Main <br />Street, on the south by Sunflower Street, and on the west by the Old <br />Newport Road, for light or heavy industrial zoning, was received and <br /> <br />filed. <br /># <br />At the request of the purchasing Agent and on motion of Councilman <br />Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the Clerk was authorized to <br />advertise for bids for the furnishing of one front end truck loader; <br />bids to be opened December 7th, 1953. <br /> <br />A communication was read from four property ownera on the corners of <br />Santa Clara and Baker Streets'requesting that the intersection be made <br />a four-way stop, and on motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by <br />McBride and carried, the request was referred to the curb usage <br /> <br />committee for report. <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br />notification of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic beverage <br />application made by E1 Robert Company, 1657 East First Street, was <br /> <br />received and filed. <br />,, <br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br />applications of Roy W. Cox and Francis Butler to drive taxicabs, were <br /> <br />received and permits granted. <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br />Minutes of the Executive Committee of the Joint Outfall Sewer Board <br />meeting held at Anaheim, November 5th, 1953, Minutes of the Personnel <br />Board dated November ~th, 1953, and report of Diehl and ComPanY for <br />the period July l, 1952 to June 30th, 1953, ~ere received and filed. <br />On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by McBride and carried, the <br />communication from Everett E. Parks and Paul O. Davis, Architects, <br />offering their services on the proposed new Library Building and <br />requesting an interview was received, filed and referred to the Manage~ <br /> <br />for acknowledgment. <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Larsen and carried, <br />communication from the Chairman, P~anning Commission, extending an <br />invitation to the Council to attend the December 10th meeting of the <br />Southern California Plan~ing Congress, at Knott~s Berry Farm, at 6:30 <br /> <br />P.M., was received and filed. <br /># <br />On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br />complaint of Mrs. J.P.McCowan and Ers. Frank Wilson, reference a <br />traffic hazard due to the tree growing at the northwest corner of <br />Broadway and St. Andrews Place and the trees on the other three <br /> <br />corners, was referred to the Manager and Park Superintendent for report. <br /># <br /> <br /> <br />
