CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO.: 25-6030 <br />TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT SEGERSTROM AVENUE AND ROSEWOOD <br />AVENUE <br />sign. Each signpost shall utilize a minimum of two rivets to attach the sign post to <br />the sign post anchor assembly. <br />The fourth paragraph of Section 56-4.02E, "Sign Panel Fastening Hardware," of the <br />Caltrans Standard Specifications shall be deleted. <br />C. INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL <br />Section 56-4.03, "Construction," of the Caltrans Standard Specifications shall be <br />deleted and replaced with the following: <br />The Contractor shall install new and relocate existing signs as noted on the plans, <br />shall protect -in -place existing signs, posts and parking meters which are not to be <br />removed, and shall replace any of these signs which are damaged during <br />construction. <br />Sign to be mounted on streetlight or traffic signal poles shall be installed using the <br />strap and saddle bracket method as shown on Caltrans Standard Plan RS-4. Sign <br />panels on traffic signal mast arms shall be installed per Caltrans Standard Plan ES- <br />7N, Detail U. Signs mounted on streetlight poles (electroliers) shall be mounted so <br />as not to cover electrolier identification tags. <br />Posts shall be installed in driven post anchors per the manufacturer's specifications. <br />New signs shall be installed on 10 foot posts, except a longer post shall be used if <br />necessary to maintain a 7 foot vertical clearance from the bottom of the lowest sign <br />to the top of the surrounding surface in pedestrian areas. Sign posts shall be installed <br />a minimum of 6 feet from power poles, fire hydrants, and other obstructions. Sign <br />posts shall be installed per City of Santa Ana Standard Plan No 1504. <br />All signs to be salvaged, as called for on the plans, shall be become property of the <br />contractor. <br />All posts driven sign post anchors shall be completely removed and the sign post <br />anchor assembly hole backfilled with clean fill dirt to match the existing <br />surrounding grade (non -paved areas only). Driven sign post anchors in sidewalk or <br />pavement areas shall be completely removed and backfilled with grout to the level <br />of the surrounding grade. <br />Sign posts with foundations in parkway area shall be completely removed and <br />backfilled with clean fill dirt to match the grade of the surrounding area. Sign posts <br />located within sidewalk or other paved areas, shall core drill the sidewalk and <br />remove the sign post to below sidewalk or paving then backfilled with concrete or <br />paving material to match the existing. <br />
