CITY OF SANTA ANA SPECIFICATIONS PROJECT NO.: 25-6030 TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AT SEGERSTROM AVENUE AND ROSEWOOD AVENUE 3-12 WORK SITE MAINTENANCE 3-12.1 General Add the following to this subsection: The contractor shall keep the work site clean and free from rubbish and debris at the end of every working day. In addition, the Contractor shall be fully responsible for removing any graffiti placed on new improvements or Contractor's equipment daily immediately at the start of the work day. The City of Santa Ana has adopted an ordinance to assist the City in complying with the State of California's Assembly Bill 939 law which requires that all cities and counties in the State reduce the amount of trash disposed of in landfills by 50%. Failure to comply with State law could result in a fine to the City of $10,000 per day. Santa Ana Municipal Code Section 16-30 (f) will ensure that construction and demolition waste generated within the City can be accounted for and recycled. The ordinance states the following, "Any person with whom the City has an agreement for the collection, transportation and disposal of construction and demolition solid waste which has accumulated and/or been generated at a temporary construction site may haul such waste during the term of such agreement. " The only company approved by the City Council to haul temporary construction and demolition material in the City of Santa Ana is: Republic Services 2700 N. Persons who generate solid waste on the premises may personally collect, transport, and dispose of their own solid waste providing that they do so in accordance with all governing laws and regulations and dispose of such solid waste at a site permitted by the California Integrated Waste Management Board. 3-12.2 Air Pollution Control Add the following to this subsection: All organic solvents used must comply with the rules, regulations and orders of the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) relating to organic solvents. 3-12.3 Noise Control The Contractor shall comply with all local sound control and noise level rules, regulations and ordinances which apply to any work performed pursuant to the contract.
