Cracks shall be sealed per Section 1.11,Crack Repair and <br /> Patching, of these Special Provisions. The pavement surface shall be cleaned with <br /> a power broom to remove all loose material, silt, grass, and dirt. <br /> The application of slurry shall be scheduled to commence after 8:00 a.m., and no <br /> slurry operations shall be done after 2:00 p.m. unless otherwise approved by the <br /> Engineer. Slurry shall be sufficiently cured for vehicle traffic without tracking or <br /> damage to the surface by 3:00 p.m. on the same day. In case of damage done by <br /> vehicles and/or pedestrians upon slurry that has not been sufficiently, the <br /> Contractor shall replace all of the damaged work at the Contractor's expense and <br /> no additional compensation shall be made by the AGENCY. Final striping shall be <br /> installed per Section 2.02, Striping (Traffic Stripes and Pavement Markings), of <br /> these Special Provisions. <br /> Section 302-4.9 entitled"Field Sampling and Testing"of the Standard Specifications shall <br /> be modified to add the following: <br /> Upon the Engineer's direction, the Contractor shall slurry seal test sections within <br /> the construction limits for each batch of slurry mix. No slurry shall be applied until <br /> the test slurry sections have been approved by the Engineer. The costs of these <br /> slurry tests shall be included in the unit price for slurry seal surfacing and no <br /> additional compensation will be allowed therefore. <br /> Section 302-4.10 entitled"Measurement"of the Standard Specifications shall be modified <br /> to add the following: <br /> Licensed weighmaster's certificates showing gross, tare, and net weight of each <br /> truck load of slurry mix shall be submitted to the Engineer by the Contractor for <br /> each working day of slurry operation. <br /> 1.08 ASPHALT CONCRETE <br /> Asphalt concrete construction shall conform to Section 200, 203, 302 and 400 of the <br /> Standard Specifications, Section 92 of the Caltrans Standard Specifications and these <br /> Special Provisions. <br /> Coarse aggregate shall consist of material which at least 75% by weight shall be crushed <br /> particles in lieu of the requirements of Section 400-4.2.3. <br /> Tack coat is required and the cost thereof shall be included in the price paid per ton for <br /> asphalt concrete. <br /> The required asphalt concrete mix designs shall be as follows: <br /> Base Course PG 64-10, B3 <br /> Leveling Course/Surface Course PG 64-10, C3 <br /> Crack Filler PG 64-10, F <br /> 31 <br />
