No. 55-296 <br />Establish yellow <br />zone (Santa Ana <br />Motor Parts) <br /> <br /> Communication was read from The Church of the Palms requesting permiss <br /> to use sound equipment in connection with the solicitation of funds, <br /> during the first three weeks in December. On motion of Councilman <br /> Dahl, seconded by Markel and carried, permission was granted to <br /> solicit funds and the license fee waived for the operation of the soun~ <br /> equipment. <br /> <br /> Communication was read from Metropolitan Water District directing <br /> attention to Section 8.1 or Section 8.2 of the Metropolitan Water <br /> District Act, and on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Markel and <br /> carried, the Clerk was instructed to notify the District that the City <br /> of Santa Ana does not wish to pay out of municipal funds any portion <br /> of the amount of taxes to be derived from the area of the Metropolitan <br /> Water District lying within the City, for the fiscal year 1956-1957. <br /> Communication was read from Chester Wafford requesting that the bicycl, <br /> license fee of fifty cents, for two years, be increased. On motion <br /> of Councilman Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the Clerk was <br /> instructed to advise Mr. Wafford that the Council is of the opinion <br /> that the bicycle license fee for bicycles shenld~'emain at the present <br /> charge. <br /> <br /> On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Dahl, <br /> seconded by Hein]y and carried, the request and petition of eighty- <br /> five parents of children attending Hoover Grammar School, requesting <br /> that a crossing guard be stationed at' th~ lnterse~tio~ of 'Santa~:Clara <br /> Avenue and Santiago Street, wa! denied. <br /> <br /> The Council having unanimously ~aived the reading of the Resolution, <br /> on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the fol- <br /> lowing Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 55-294 concerning parking <br /> limitations and curb markings in accord- <br /> ance therewith" <br /> <br /> was considered and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Councilmen Dale H. Heinly, J. Ogden Markel, William Jerome, <br /> Milford W. Dahl, Cgurtney R. Chandler <br /> Noes, Councilmen None <br /> Absent, Councilmen None <br /> <br /> The Council having unani$ously waived the reading of the Resolution, <br /> on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the fol- <br /> lowing Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution No. 55-295 concerning parking <br /> limitations and curb markings in accord- <br /> ance therewith" <br /> <br />was considered and passed by the f.ollowing vote: <br /> <br />Ayes, Councilmen Dale H.
