Planning Commission Resolution 5767 recommended approval of <br />Exhibit C which would reclassify to the C 2 and R i districts. The Clerk <br />reported that notice of the hearing was published in The Register, with <br />affidavit of publication on file~ and that no written communications had <br />been received. There being no response to the Mayor's call for testimony~ <br />the hearing was closed. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Gilmore, seconded by Coancilman Herrin and <br />carried~ that Council approve the reclassification and instruct the City <br />Attorney to prepare an amending ordinance according to Exhibit C. <br /> <br />DRAINAGE AREA 7 Hearing was opened on <br />"~/fJY proposed addition of area <br /> bound by South Main, <br /> Sunflower~ Flower and the <br />Pacific Electric Railroad Drainage Area VII, a phase of the Public <br />Services and Facilities Element of the General Plan of Comm~uity Development. <br />Planning Commission Resolution 5768 recommended approval in accordance with <br />Engineering Exhibit A and supplemental report entitled "Storm Drain Facilities <br />for Drainage Area VII". The Clerk reported that notice of the hearing was <br />published in The Register, with affidavit of publication on file, and that <br />no written cc~munications had been received. The Planning Director displayed <br />a drainage plan as previously adopted through hearings of the Planning <br />Commission and incorporated in the M~uicipal Code. <br /> <br />The Public Works Director explained the changing development patterns in <br />the area~ described the proposed amendment to drainage plans and addition <br />to the area. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Markel~ seconded by Councilman Burk and carried~ <br />that Council approve the addition to Drainage Area VII and development plans <br />described in engineering report entitled "Storm Drain Facilities for Drainage <br />Area VII and instruct the City Attorney to prepare the proper documents. <br /> <br />PRIVATE WATER CO. Mr. ~ Phelps, ~614 Melric <br />~' ~ presented to Council, a <br /> petition from residents <br /> in his area urging purchase <br />of the Southern California Water Company because of high rates. Fire Chief <br />Garthe described the inadequacies of the water facilities in the area and <br />the resulting higher insurance rates. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Gilmore~ seconded by CounciLman Markel~ and <br />carried~ that Council order the petition filed and instruct the staff to <br />continue negotiating with the private company and the Public Utilities <br />Commission. <br /> <br />N.PARK-SANTA CLARA- The Public Works Director <br />BROADWAY INTERSECTION presented a diagram of the <br />~/~ proposed channelization <br /> and signalization of the <br />North Park-Santa Clara-Broadway intersection.
