PART 2 <br /> <br />2.01 <br /> <br /> A. <br /> <br />Distribution switchboard. <br />Wiring devices, <br /> <br />PRODUCTS <br /> <br />CONDUIT AND FITTINGS <br /> <br />Conduit: Conduit manufactured by National, Republic, Triangle, General Electric or <br />Cation, Conduits shall be furnished by one manufacturer with exception of vinyl <br />coated and flexible conduit. Conduit shall meet requirements of ANSI C80.1 and <br />C80.3. <br /> <br />Conduit Fittings: Conduit fittings manufactured by Thomas and Betts, Crouse-Hinds, <br />Pyle-National, Raco, or Appleton. Fittings shall be furnished by one manufacturer. <br />Fittings will meet requirements of ANSI C80.4. <br /> <br />Rigid Conduil: Standard I.P.S., hot dipped galvanized or sheradized threaded steel <br />conduit with zinc coated threads and protective caps, or PVC Schedule 40 polyvinyl <br />chloride. <br /> <br />Changes in direction of conduit where concealed made by means of standard <br />radius bends, and where exposed by means of UL approved threaded conduit <br />fittings, either cast aluminum or cast iron with galvanized or sheradized finish. <br />LB condulets for conduit larger than I l/2-inch ID are not used. <br /> <br />Conduits buried in or in contact with earth are PVC Schedule 40. Conduit risers <br />shall be rigid steel with half lapped lomic pipe wrapping tape and sealant applied <br />to all joints. <br /> <br />3. Rigid conduit to be used in the following locations: <br /> <br />Locations exposed to the weather. <br />For feeders to panels. <br />In exposed locations where subject to mechanical injury. <br /> <br />Conduits where located in outside walls, underground, construction, damp <br />locations or exposed to the weather will have sealant applied to joints. <br /> <br />Top of duct shall be not less than 24 inches below grade.
