3.06 <br /> <br /> A. <br /> <br />Measurements: Verify measurements at site. No extra compensation shall be made <br />because of differences between locations shown on Drawings and measurements at <br />building. <br /> <br />INSTALLATION OF LIGHTING FIXTURES <br /> <br />Installation of all lighting fixtures done by experienced electrician. Lighting fixtures <br />not installed where finished coat of paint has been applied to walls until paint is <br />thoroughly dry. Provide all necessary framing and mounting hardware. <br /> <br />Contractor to be responsible for proper coordination of all lighting fixture locations. <br />Provide support for all lighting fixtures mounted on or recessed in hung ceiling. <br />Confer with Ceiling Contractor and other trades to coordinate lighting systems. <br /> <br />Lighting fixtures to be rigidly mounted to fixture stud in outlet boxes. Malleable iron <br />hickeys or extension pieces provided where required. <br /> <br />Provide suitable coverplate or canopy for each lighting fixture outlet box where the <br />lighling fixture does not provide a suitable cover. <br /> <br />Lighting fixtures located on exterior of building installed with cadmium plated brass <br />screws and gasketed. <br /> <br />Verify all ceiling heights and clearances if mounting height is not indicated on plans or <br />in lighting fixture schedule, or if lighting fixture is relocated because of a conflict with <br />another trade. A mounting height for the lighting fixture is to be submitted for review. <br /> <br />Each lighting fixture completely wired in an approved manner with No. 14 AWG <br />copper stranded wire, 600 volt, with type SF-2 insulation; recessed lay-in lighting <br />fixtures furnished with 7 feet No. 14 SF wire and 6 feet Greenfield, 4 feet when <br />installed in an air plenum. <br /> <br />Circuit wiring running through the lighting fixtures to be No. 12 AWG ~vith type SF <br />insulation. No joints in the wires other than those absolutely required. Provide wires <br />of sufficient length for making approved connections at the light outlets and at the <br />lampholders or ballasts. <br /> <br />Joints and splices within lighting fixtures to be either soldered and taped with plastic <br />electrician's tape or secured by wire nuts or indent type lug fasteners. <br /> <br />Protect the lighting fixtures from damage during their unloading or removal, storage or <br />installation, any broken fixtures, lenses, etc. must be replaced with new parts, without <br />any additional expense to the City, undue delay or inconvenience. <br /> <br />Basic Materials and Methods 16050-20 <br /> <br /> <br />
