(CA 68.3) <br /> <br />PROPOSED BICENTENNIAL <br />PROJECT - CULTURAL HERITAGE <br />EVALUATION COMMITTEE <br /> <br />The report dated March 27, <br />1974, from the Museum <br />Director regarding the <br />Cultural Heritage Commit- <br /> <br />tee's recommendation to establish and maintain a "Santa Ana <br />Room" a% ~Bowers Museum :as a Bicentennial Project, was received <br />by Council and referred to the Museum Board and staff on motion <br />of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Evans, and unani- <br />mously carried. (CA 42.5; CA 85) <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 74-56 A RESOLUTION OP THE <br />BICENTENNIAL PROJECT CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> ~: CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> DESIGNATING THE GREATER <br />SANTA ANA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AS THE OFFICIAL COORDINATING <br />AND ADVISORY ORGANIZATION TO DEVELOP A PROGRAM FOR THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA'S PARTICIPATION IN THE 1976 AMERICAN REVOLUTION <br />BICENTENNIAL COMMEMORATION was adopted on motion of Councilman <br />Griset, seconded by Councilman Markel, with dissenting vote <br />by Councilman Ward. <br /> <br />The following action was also taken by Council on motion of <br />Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman Markel and carried, <br />with Councilman Ward dissenting: <br /> <br />Approved list of proposed members of the Santa Ana <br />American Revolution Bicentennial Committee and ~ <br />authorized Project Director to invite additional <br />members to serve on the steering committee, with the <br />proviso that the Bicentennial Committee be increased <br />to provide greater representation from all segments of <br />the City for total community participation and support; <br /> <br />Appointed Mr. Gene Moriarty as the Project Director; <br /> <br />Appmoved action of the Project Director and the commit- <br />tee to make application and take necessary steps to <br />become a Bicentennial Community; <br /> <br />Directed the Santa Ana American Revolution Bicentennial <br />Committee to develop an appropriate program and operat- <br />ing budget; <br /> <br />Directed the Bowers Muesum Director to act as the <br />liaison between the City of Santa Ana and the Santa <br />Ana American Revolution Bicentennial Committee for the <br />purpose of informing the Greater Santa Ana Chamber <br />of Commerce of the State laws regarding policies and <br />procedures as outlined in the Brown Act. .(CA 42.3) <br /> <br />LIBRARY DEPARTMENT The report dated Febru- <br />OgJECT~VES - 1973-74 . ary 22,' 1974, from the <br /> Library Board, listing <br /> prioritized Library <br />Department Objectives for 1973-74, was received and ordered <br />filed on motion of Councilman Griset, seconded by Councilman <br />Evans and unanimously carried.
