Employees who are ordered back to work while off~duty <br />because of an emergency or other unforeseen event, will <br />be paid for travel time at the overtime rate from the <br />time they leave their home until they return home, or <br />until their regularly scheduled shift begins. Only <br />that period of time devoted to work will be <br />compensated. <br /> <br />C. Employees who are called at home and offered voluntary <br />overtime work, and elect to accept the offer, will not <br />be compensated for travel time in any manner. <br />Similarly, employees who sign up for voluntary <br />overtime, or who have advance notice that they will <br />have to work during their off~duty time on an overtime <br />basis, will not be compensated for travel time. <br /> <br />8.12 Accrued Overtime Paid Upon Promotions or Upon Separation. <br />Upon an employee's appointment to a position in which <br />overtime may not be earned or upon an employee's separation <br />from employment with the City by resignation, retirement, <br />layoff or otherwise, he or she shall forthwith be <br />compensated for any overtime accumulated to the time <br />immediately preceding such promotion or separation. <br /> <br />8.13 Court Appearance. <br />personnel covered <br /> <br />Compensation for court appearance by <br />by this Agreement shall be as follows: <br /> <br />A. For each required court appearance made by an employee <br />during his or her off~duty time in regard to City <br />business, employees shall be paid overtime for the <br />period of time from their arrival at court until they <br />are released from court or the court session closes for <br />tha t day. However, in no case, shall an employee <br />receive less than two (2) hours overtime for a court <br />appearance. If court appearances are made both in the <br />morning and afternoon of a particular day, two (2) <br />hours overtime will be allowed for each session <br />attended. If the employee is not released and must <br />remain available for afternoon court, the employee <br />shall be paid overtime for all hours the court is in <br />session that day. <br /> <br />The employee <br />requiring his <br />procedures. <br /> <br />must provide a copy of the subpoena <br />or her attendance to initiate payroll <br /> <br />B.
