WIE <br />r <br />�neEddrProposal - Project Understanding and Scope -of -work 1-74 <br />• Excavatability and suitability of the on -site material as backfill; <br />• Foundation type and design parameters (allowable bearing pressure, and anticipated <br />settlement); <br />• Excavation and backfill of pipeline trenches (bedding, thrust blocks and use of on -site <br />r materials for backfill); <br />• Seismic design parameters as per UBC, 1997; <br />• Liquefaction evaluation; <br />• Groundwater conditions; <br />• Active and passive earth pressures for retaining walls or excavations; <br />• Evaluation of soil corrosivity with respect to steel and concrete; and <br />• Pavement recommendations. <br />Landscaping <br />Metcalf & Eddy has included this item in the proposal on an "as needed" basis. It is <br />uncertain at this time whether or not landscaping will be required as part of these <br />improvements. Should landscape and irrigation plans be necessary, it is anticipated the <br />maximum scope of work would be as follows: <br />• A 6' wide landscape planter along north and west wall approximate length 600 ft. <br />• Trees at approximately 15' o.c.. with ground cover, shrubs and ivy on the block <br />wall. <br />Metcalf & Eddy will be paid for work actually completed depending on degree of <br />landscape and irrigation required. <br />d) Plan Check and Permits <br />Metcalf & Eddy will also perform services relating to City's Building and Safety <br />Department review of plans, requirements, inspections, etc. Even though this pumping <br />station will be owned and operated by the City of Santa Ana, there may be plans review, <br />permitting and inspection tasks that involve City's Building and Planning departments. <br />Metcalf & Eddy shall coordinate, administer and apply for the following permits:. <br />• Building permit —City of Santa Ana <br />• Electric permit— City of Santa Ana <br />The City will be responsible for all permit fees and will assist in processing plans for <br />the City issued permits. <br />After review by the permitting agencies, Metcalf & Eddy will prepare a final version <br />of the Contract Documents, consisting of front -end documents, technical <br />specifications, and preliminary detailed drawings. <br />Company Confidential • Trade Secret and Proprietary Information of,Netcalf & Eddy, Inc. <br />
