Nursing Assistant Training Program <br /> allowed to substitute for a watch. Instructors may require more equipment. The <br /> student must follow what additional equipment the instructor requires. <br /> 9. No jewelry, other than a watch, a wedding band, and a pair of stud earrings are <br /> permitted. Only one earring per ear is allowed. No other facial jewelry including <br /> tongue piercing is allowed. Tattoos and hickeys must not be visible. <br /> 10 the <br /> e-hand determination of what is acceptable. <br /> 11 Perfumes or other fragrances are notpermitted. <br /> 12 The use of electronic devices (cell phones, tablets, netbooks, etc.) in class and in <br /> clinical setting may be allowed when it is related to student learning or client 3are, <br /> This rule is however subject to facility policy and approval of the instructor. As a <br /> rule, the student must first seek the approval of the instructor before using an of <br /> these devices. If allowed, these devices must be kept in a silent mode and the r use <br /> be limited. A student may be removed from the class or clinical area by the <br /> instructor who deems that the use of these devices are distracting to others or are <br /> abusive. The instructor has the free determination as to what is distracting or <br /> abusive. <br /> 13 Gum chewing is not allowed during class and in the clinical area. <br /> Wearing Casual Clothing <br /> Studei its are expected to wear business casual clothing and look professional at all ti nes <br /> while on campus. No flip flops, sandals, short shorts, midriffs or see through garmer ts <br /> are allowed. Certain clinical sites may require students to wear street clothes, In thi <br /> instan e, students must ensure that they are wearing clothes that are appropriate to tl e <br /> clinic 1 setting they are going. Students must wear clothes that do not project an ima 7e <br /> unbec ming of a student of LGL College, that do not restrict the student from perfo ing <br /> the fu ictions of a student nurse, and do not cause clients to develop unexpected behavior <br /> manif stations. As a rule, the instructor has the free determination what clothes are <br /> appro riate and acceptable. The instructor may deny the student of the class or clini al <br /> experience if he/she is wearing street clothes that are deemed inappropriate or <br /> unacc ptable. <br /> Dress Code Violation Protocol <br /> The ir structor shall determine if the student is in violation of the Dress Code Policy. The <br /> studet it must correct the violation within five minutes from the time the violation is <br /> broug it to the attention of the student. If the violation cannot be corrected, the studel it <br /> may he sent home. <br /> The ir structor will take the following steps for Dress Code violation: <br /> 1. First Offense: Verbal warning documented in a incident form. <br /> 2. ,Second Offense: Denial of entry to the class or clinical setting (or sending th <br /> in <br /> session). The instructor should document the incident in the incident report form <br /> and place the student of probation, <br /> 3. Third Offense: Denial of entry to the class or clinical setting (or sending the student <br /> home if the violation is witnessed while the class or clinical training is in session). <br /> The instructor should document the incident in the incident form and recommend <br /> Student Handbook 2024 47 <br /> *Policy and Procedures are Subject to Change* <br />
