(9) SCOPE OF WORK <br />• Sprinkler Heads <br />• Piping <br />• Bracing <br />3. Test 100% of all Fire Sprinkler Systems every five (5) years to include, but not be <br />limited to the following: <br />• Water Flow Devices <br />• Tamper Devices <br />• Pressure Devices <br />• Sprinkler Heads <br />• Piping <br />• Control Valve Devices <br />• Kitchen Hood Suppression Systems <br />4. Inlet connections shall be back -flowed from the check valve to the inlet by <br />disassembling the check valve or blocking the check valve open so that water will <br />back -flow out of the fire department inlet connections. <br />5. Fire department inlet connections and outlets shall be equipped with approved plugs <br />or caps. <br />6. For wet system alarm testing only, the inspector's test valve shall be opened to test <br />the alarm bell response. When fully opened, the response shall occur within five <br />minutes. When conducting such a test on a dry -pipe, pre -action or deluge system, <br />use the alarm test line. <br />7. An approved test gage shall be connected at the test gage opening to test the <br />reliability of the existing gages. <br />8. Control valves shall be closed and reopened to assure their ability to operate. <br />9. Pressures shall be observed with the main drain valve closed, and wide open for flow <br />testing. Upon closing the main drain valve, an observation shall be made to <br />determine how quickly pressure is restored to indicate if there are closed valves or <br />obstructions in water supply lines. <br />10. Dry -pipe, pre -action and deluge systems shall be trip tested annually in accordance <br />with nationally recognized standards. <br />Hose Station Inspection <br />1.
