(9) SCOPE OF WORK <br />2. The full length of fire hose sections shall be examined for mildew, cuts, abrasions <br />and other deterioration. The hose shall be replaced with listed lined hose as <br />needed. Hose couplings, gaskets and nozzle shall be checked for damage and <br />obstructions. <br />Smoke Detector Inspection <br />Clean all smoke and/or duct detectors once a year. Follow the manufacturer's instructions <br />in cleaning and testing smoke and/or duct detectors. Cleaning shall involve the use of <br />vacuuming and a chemical/wash cleaning for each detector. <br />Fire Alarm Testing <br />1. Fire alarm system testing shall be completed in accordance with the requirements of <br />the State Fire Marshal — CCR/Title-19, NFPA, Authorities Having Jurisdiction, Local <br />Building Codes, and Manufacturer's recommendations, and other nationally <br />recognized standards. The contractor is responsible for making Owner aware of any <br />new codes or revisions to existing codes. <br />2. Test and inspect 100% of all fire alarm system components each calendar year to <br />include, but not limited to, the following: <br />• Fire Alarm Control Panel <br />• Smoke and Duct Detectors <br />• Smoke/Fire Dampers <br />• Heat Detectors <br />• Manual Pull Stations <br />• Audible Devices <br />• Visual Devices <br />• HVAC and Smoke Systems <br />• Battery Backup <br />• Annunciators <br />• Notification appliance devices (bells, horns, speakers, strobes, etc.) <br />• Dialers <br />• Independent Power Supplies <br />• Tamper Switches <br />• Water Flow Switches <br />• Post Indicator Valves <br />• Monitor Modules <br />• Control Modules <br />• Relays <br />• Activation of smoke evacuation and/or stairwell pressurization fans <br />• Firefighter phones and phone jacks <br />• Fire doors for proper deployment and drop rate <br />• Magnetic door holders and stairwell door locks for proper releasing <br />City of Santa Ana IFB No. 25-047 Page 14 of 34 <br />
