CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> A. Only when Agency and City of Santa Ana approves final design plans or provide written <br /> approval to proceed with system construction and integration, shall consultant begin the <br /> procurement and mobilization of system improvements on project. <br /> B. Consultant shall work directly with City of Santa Ana and affected Agencies to schedule, <br /> construct, and inspect the improvements implemented for this project. <br /> 1. NEC Certification is required for all persons who perform work as electricians for <br /> contractors licensed as Class C-10 electrical contractors under the Contractor's <br /> State License Board Rules and Regulations. <br /> 2. The contractor shall keep the traffic signal system in operations at all times during <br /> construction except for the approved switchover shutdowns described below. <br /> 3. Traffic Signal shutdown shall be limited to four-hour periods between the hours of <br /> 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on weekdays (Monday through Thursday), except as <br /> authorized by owning Agency. <br /> 4. Turn-on of new or rewired traffic signals, or those with a new controller cabinet <br /> shall only be scheduled for hours between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. and shall not begin <br /> the functional test on a Friday, weekend, holiday or any day preceding a holiday, <br /> except as authorized by owning Agency. The Inspector shall be notified at least <br /> five (5) working days before the intended turn-on and provide method and <br /> schedule of turn-on procedure. <br /> 5. The Inspector shall be notified a minimum of two work days in advance of planned <br /> connection of the new or modified traffic signal to the traffic signal communications <br /> system, if the new or modified traffic signal is to be connected to the traffic signal <br /> communications system. <br /> 6. The contractor shall submit material submittals for approval prior to the start of <br /> construction or some cases, before manufacturing. <br /> 7. The Contractor shall be responsible for all electrical service details, coordinating <br /> and scheduling of work and necessary connections in advance of need. <br /> 8. The Contractor may perform sub-surface work consisting of the installation of <br /> conduit, and foundations, prior to receipt of all electrical materials and equipment. <br /> 9. Above-ground signal work shall not commence until such time that the contractor <br /> notifies the City of Santa Ana, in writing, of the date that all electrical materials and <br /> equipment are received and said work shall start within 15 days after said date. <br /> 10. All excavated material shall be removed from the site and backfilled with <br /> compacted crushed aggregate base material topped with temporary asphalt <br /> concrete on the same working day as removed. <br /> 13 <br />
