employee for attendance at conventions, conferences, seminars or <br /> the like, unless such employee is ordered to attend. Overtime pay <br /> or compensatory time off with pay shall be permitted only for <br /> attendance on such employee' s normal days off or for time beyond a <br /> normal workday' s duration. Overtime pay or compensatory time off <br /> with pay shall not be allowed for travel time to and from <br /> conventions, association meetings, conferences, seminars or the <br /> like, should such time occur outside the employee' s normal work <br /> schedule, unless the employee is ordered to attend. <br /> Section 11 . Compensation for Overtime : Other Exclusions . For <br /> employees on 3/12 - 4/12 Work Schedule, training or attendance at <br /> conventions, conferences, seminars for the duration of the day, or <br /> the like, held outside the City limits, in lieu of an employee' s <br /> regularly scheduled 11 hour 30 minutes shift, will count as 10 <br /> hours worked, including travel time, and thus the employee will be <br /> left with 1 hour 30 minutes balance . This time will be reimbursed <br /> from the employee' s "Time Off Bank" or from the employee' s <br /> compensatory time balance . Training held within the City limits <br /> for less than 8 hours or outside the city will be accounted for on <br /> an hour-to-hour basis except employees attending training outside <br /> the city limits may be eligible for 2 hours of travel time . <br /> However, it is the City' s intent to minimize the chargeback to paid <br /> time by the employee through effective planning of training <br /> programs . <br /> Section 12 . Call-Back-Duty. Any employee covered by this <br /> Agreement who is recalled to active duty from off-duty, shall be <br /> entitled to overtime pay at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) <br /> times the normal hourly pay rate for such employee for time <br /> actually worked after reporting to the place of duty, or to two (2) <br /> hours' pay at the normal rate of pay, whichever is greater. <br /> Section 13 . Accrued Overtime Paid Upon Promotions or Upon <br /> Separation. Upon an employee' s appointment to a position in which <br /> overtime may not be earned or upon an employee' s separation from <br /> employment with the City by resignation, retirement, layoff or <br /> otherwise, he or she shall forthwith be compensated for any <br /> overtime accumulated to the time immediately preceding such <br /> promotion or separation. <br /> Section 14 . Court Appearance . Compensation for court <br /> appearance by personnel covered by this Agreement shall be as <br /> follows : <br /> A. For each court appearance made by an employee during <br /> his or her off-duty time in regard to city business three (3) <br /> hours' overtime will be granted and paid on a straight time basis . <br /> If court appearances are made both in the morning and afternoon of <br /> a particular day, three (3) hours will be allowed for each session <br /> attended. The employee must provide a copy of the subpoena <br /> requiring his or her attendance to initiate payroll procedures . <br /> 18 <br />
