Approval of the Chief of Police. <br /> Section 7. Senior Police Sergeant I. Any officer <br /> holding the rank of Police Sergeant in the Santa Ana Police <br /> Department, .regardless of duty assignment, who fulfills the <br /> requirements established in this section shall be designated <br /> as a Senior Police Sergeant I. -and shall be paid an additional <br /> seven and one-half percent (7. 5%) , (15 salary rate ranges) <br /> above his or her then current base monthly salary step. The <br /> criteria for such designation shall be as follows: <br /> A. Completion of five (5) years of municipal <br /> police experience. <br /> B. Completion (acquisition) of at least sixty <br /> (60) educational and/or training units. <br /> C. Approval of the Chief of Police. <br /> ' Section 8. Senior Police 'Sergeant II. Any officer <br /> holding the rank of Police Sergeant in the Santa Ana Police <br /> Department, ,regardless of duty assignment, who fulfills the <br /> requirements established- in this section shall be designated <br /> as a Senior Police Sergeant II and shall - be paid an additional <br /> ten percent (10%) (20 salary rate ranges) above his or her <br /> then current base monthly salary step. The Criteria for <br /> such designation shall be as follows: <br /> A. Completion of eight years of municipal police <br /> experience and attainment of "E" step of the base salary <br /> rate range for the Police Sergeant classification. <br /> B. Completion (acquisition) of at least ninety <br /> (90) educational and/or training units; or possession of an <br /> Associate of. Arts academic degree from an accredited college <br /> with an additional thirty (30)_ or`more. education or training <br /> units. <br /> C. Approval of the Chief of Police. <br /> Section 9. Administrative Guidelines. <br /> An individual authorized an increase in pay as a <br /> result of any provision of -the Police Career Development <br /> Program set out in this Article cannot also receive any <br /> additional pay differential set forth in Article 'V of this <br /> Agreement except for bilingual pay. <br /> -11- <br />
