entitled to the following cash out provisions below: <br />a. After ten (10) years, but less than fifteen (15) years of service, the <br />employee shall be entitled to fifty percent (50%) of the amount of unused <br />sick leave benefits credited to either 1) their RHS account, or 2) their <br />individual 457 account, or 3) cash upon the effective date of separation, <br />not to exceed a maximum limit of six hundred forty (640) hours. <br />b. After fifteen (15) years, but less than twenty (20) years of service, the <br />employee shall be entitled to fifty percent (50%) of unused sick leave <br />benefits credited to either 1) their RHS account, or 2) their individual 457 <br />account, or 3) cash upon the effective date of separation, not to exceed a <br />maximum limit of eight hundred (800) hours. <br />c. After twenty (20) years, but less than twenty-five (25) years of service, <br />the employee shall be entitled to sixty-six and sixty-seven hundredths <br />percent (66.67%) of unused sick leave benefits credited to either 1) their <br />RHS account, or 2) their individual 457 account, or 3) cash upon the <br />effective date of separation, not to exceed a maximum limit of one <br />thousand sixty-seven (1,067) hours. <br />d. After twenty-five (25) years of service or more, the employee shall be <br />entitled to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of unused sick <br />leave benefits credited to either 1) their RHS account, or 2) their <br />individual 457 account, or 3) cash upon the effective date of separation, <br />not to exceed a maximum limit of two thousand (2,000) hours. <br />2. A lump sum payment shall be made to the beneficiaries of any eligible <br />employee whose death occurs while such employee is an active employee of <br />the City, such payment to be in the amount of two-thirds (2/3) of the total <br />sick leave benefit credited to the employee's account at the time of their <br />death, and at the rate of pay effective on the date of the death. <br />3. Association members who notify the City, in writing, of their intent to retire <br />from the City within twelve (12) calendar months shall be allowed to cash out <br />any and all eligible leave bank balances, including sick leave, upon request. <br />Employees shall receive payment the first paycheck in January after the <br />request has been made. If an employee cashes out their eligible leave bank <br />balances prior to retirement and subsequently remains employed one (1) year <br />after their initial notice of intent to retire, said employee shall be ineligible to <br />accrue one hundred (100) hours of management vacation the next calendar <br />year. <br />32 <br />
