<br /> Housing Development Highlights <br />The following are six (6) examples of housing developments that address the various <br />housing challenges and needs facing the Santa Ana community: <br />425 E. Wellington Ave. Habitat for Humanity <br />Habitat for Humanity of Orange County is <br />advancing a project at 425 E. Wellington <br />Avenue that will convert an existing nine- <br />unit rental development into affordable <br />homeownership condominium units. On <br />July 1, 2025, the City Council approved <br />$920,000 in Inclusionary Housing Funds to <br />support the project. <br />918 N. Bewley St. Richard Lehn <br />Intergenerational Housing <br />The Richard Lehn Intergenerational <br />Housing project at 918 N. Bewley Street, <br />developed by Illumination Foundation, <br />»Above: Picture of the new affordable housing <br />conversion project at 425 E. Wellington Ave. <br />involves the rehabilitation of two two-story <br />residential buildings into 11 rental units <br />serving homeless transitional-age youth and senior citizens. The City supported the <br />project with $2,021,319 in Homeless Housing, Assistance and Prevention (HHAP) funds <br />and eight Project-Based Vouchers. As of May 13, 2025, the developer received building <br />and grading permits, selected a general contractor, and entered into a zero-sum contract. <br />Staff has disbursed 90% of the HHAP funds. <br /> <br />»Above: Rendered image of the Richard Lehn Intergenerational Housing project at 918 N.
