The parties agree that to the extent permitted by law, the pay in this section is special <br />compensation and shall be reported pursuant to Title 2 CCR, Section 571(a)(4) and <br />571.1(b)(3) as Police Investigator Premium. However, Ca1PERS ultimately determines <br />whether any form of compensation qualifies as special compensation. <br />5.6 Motorcycle Patrol Premium <br />Police Officers or Police Sergeants who are routinely and consistently assigned to <br />and actually performing duties of a Motor Officer assigned to the Traffic Division <br />who are routinely and consistently assigned to operate and/or patrol on motorcycle <br />will be paid two and one half percent (2.5%) of base pay. Motor Officers shall <br />maintain their motorcycle on duty. <br />The parties agree that to the extent permitted by law, the pay in this section is special <br />compensation and shall be reported pursuant to Title 2 CCR, Section 571(a)(4) and <br />571.1(b)(3) as Motorcycle Patrol Premium. However, Ca1PERS ultimately determines <br />whether any form of compensation qualifies as special compensation. <br />5.7 Aircraft/Helicopter Premium <br />Employees in the class of Police Officer who are routinely and consistently <br />assigned as a helicopter or fixed wing aircraft pilot will be paid five percent (5.0%) <br />of base pay. This pay does not apply to individuals who pilot a drone. <br />The parties agree that to the extent permitted by law, this pay is special compensation and <br />shall be reported pursuant to Title 2 CCR, Section 571(a)(4) and 571.1(b)(3) as <br />Aircraft/Helicopter Premium. However, Ca1PERS ultimately determines whether any <br />form of compensation qualifies as special compensation. <br />5.8 Search Pay Premium <br />Effective March 22, 2026, employees in the classifications of a Correctional Officer <br />I, Correctional Officer II, or Correctional Supervisor who are routinely and <br />consistently assigned to search and process prisoners in the induction area of jails <br />as a Jail Transport Officer will be paid two and one half percent (2.5%) of base pay. <br />The parties agree that to the extent permitted by law, this pay is special compensation and <br />shall be reported pursuant to Title 2 CCR, Section 571(a)(4) and 571.1(b)(3) as Search Pay <br />Premium. However, Ca1PERS ultimately determines whether any form of compensation <br />qualifies as special compensation. <br />5.9 Shift Differential Pay <br />A. Non -Sworn Personnel. Employees in the classes of Animal Service Officer I, <br />Animal Service Officer II, Forensic Specialist I, Crime Research Analyst, Forensic <br />Specialist II, Police Communications Supervisor, Police Investigative Specialist, <br />Police Property & Evidence Specialist, Police Service Officer, Police Evidence and <br />Supply Specialist, Police Services Dispatcher, Communications Services Officer, <br />Correctional Officer, (effective March 22, 2026, 2026 for Correctional Officer II), <br />Correctional Supervisor and Parking Control Officer who are routinely and <br />14 <br />
