2025 URBAN WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN <br /> MAY 2026/FINAL DRAFT/CAROLLO <br /> CHAPTER 2 UWMP PREPARATION <br /> City of Santa Ana's (City) 2025 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) is prepared to meet the California <br /> Water Code (Water Code) compliance as a retail water supplier to its customers.The development of this <br /> UWMP involved close coordination with its wholesale supplier, the Metropolitan Water District of <br /> Southern California (MET), and other key entities within the region such as the Municipal Water District of <br /> Orange County (MWDOC)and Orange County Water District (OCWD). <br /> 2.1 Individual Planning and Compliance <br /> As described in Chapter 1, every urban water supplier providing water for municipal purposes to more <br /> than 3,000 customers or supplying more than 3,000 acre-feet (AF) of water annually must prepare, adopt, <br /> and file an UWMP with the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) every five years to meet the <br /> compliance requirements of the UWMP Act.As shown in Table 2.1, the City of Santa Ana meets this <br /> criteria, as it has 45,810 municipal connections and supplied 32,935 AF in Fiscal Year 2025. <br /> Table 2.1 Submittal Table 2-1: Public Water Systems <br /> Submittal Table 2-1 Retail: Public Water Systems AW <br /> Public Water System Public Water System Number of Municipal Volume of <br /> Number Name Connections 2025 Water Supplied <br /> 2025(AF) <br /> Add additional rows as needed <br /> CA3010038 City of Santa Ana 45,810 32,935 <br /> Total 45,810 32,935 <br /> DWR NOTES: <br /> Units of measure(AF,CCF, MG)must remain consistent throughout the UWMP as reported in Submittal Table 2-3. <br /> This table identifies the unit of measure selected in Table 2-3. <br /> NOTES: <br /> CCF—centum cubic feet; MG—million gallons <br /> The City opted to prepare its own UWMP (Table 2.2) and comply with the Water Code individually, while <br /> closely coordinating with MET, MWDOC, and various key entities as discussed in Chapter 2.2 to streamline <br /> regional integration.The UWMP Checklist was completed to confirm the compliance of this UWMP with <br /> the Water Code (Appendix A).
