1. Clinical Medical Assisting (24 weeks): Prepares trainees to measure vital signs,
<br /> assist physicians with procedures, administer medications and injections, record
<br /> electrocardiograms, draw blood, and complete records to support medical staff.
<br /> Training includes a 160-hour practicum at a doctor's office or medical clinic.
<br /> ii. Child Development Careers (6 weeks): Prepares graduates to work in schools and
<br /> clinics as Behavioral Technicians, Para-educators, Instructional Aides, or Early
<br /> Childhood Assistant Teachers.
<br /> 2. Mentoring/Life Skills: Hope Builders will provide comprehensive wraparound support
<br /> services to help trainees successfully transition into the workforce. These services will
<br /> include individualized case management and employment readiness support. Each
<br /> trainee will be assigned an Employment Readiness Specialist/Coordinator to provide
<br /> guidance in overcoming obstacles to program completion and employment.Throughout
<br /> the training, participants will work closely with an Employment Readiness
<br /> Specialist/Coordinator, to address employment barriers and develop essential
<br /> workplace behaviors such as accountability, initiative, productivity, grit, and leadership.
<br /> Eking IRIS assessment results, specialists will create individualized service plans with
<br /> tailored goals. In addition to case management, trainees will receive weekly life skills
<br /> instruction covering social and emotional wellness, healthy behaviors,technological
<br /> literacy, financial responsibility, and educational achievement.
<br /> Additionally, participants receive weekly Employment Readiness workshops and
<br /> coaching sessions to develop essential job search skills and workplace professionalism.
<br /> Training will cover interview preparation, resume writing, networking, professional
<br /> presentation, and career exploration. Sessions will also focus on telephone/video
<br /> conferencing techniques, dressing for success, and identifying employment pathways.
<br /> 3. Links to Career& Education Pathways: Hope Builders, in partnership with the Rancho
<br /> Santiago Community College District, will offer trainees the opportunity to earn post-
<br /> secondary credentials.The Career Readiness team will conduct weekly sessions to guide
<br /> participants in creating resumes, setting up professional email accounts, conducting job
<br /> searches, dressing professionally, and practicing interview skills.To expand career
<br /> awareness, guest speakers from industries such as Providence, Kaiser Permanente, Hoag
<br /> Hospital, ABA Enhancements, and 24HRC will introduce trainees to potential career
<br /> pathways. Additionally, trainees will participate in industry field trips, including visits to
<br /> the Orange County Carpenter's Union, ABC Craft Championship, and AGC, providing
<br /> hands-on exposure to various career opportunities.
<br /> 4. Employment Services:Through its social enterprise staffing agency, Hope Builders
<br /> Career Connections (HBCC), participants will be supported to secure, maintain, and
<br /> advance in their careers.
