Conduct Intakes <br /> An "intake" is the first meeting with each participant and allows Employment Readiness <br /> Specialist/Coordinator to build rapport and identify possible barriers. Support Specialist should <br /> allot 30 minutes for the intakes, Intakes will start the first day of Orientation and will take place <br /> throughout Orientation week. <br /> 1. Intake questionnaire located in Apricot. <br /> 2. Discuss confidentiality and mandated reporting. <br /> 3. Assess potential barriers (transportation, childcare, mental health, housing etc.) <br /> 4. Reenforce the importance of reliable transportation and establish a Plan A and Plan B <br /> for arriving at training every day and on time (discuss the impact on attendance). <br /> 5. Enter your intake note in Apricot. <br /> Preparation for Cohort/Create Syllabus <br /> ✓ Build cohort course in Schoology- Learning Manager sends email when course is <br /> available for new cohort. <br /> ✓ Prior to the start of your cohort create your class syllabus. <br /> ✓ Ensure assessments have a due date. <br /> ✓ Send your syllabus to SSM for review and upload to your Schoology course. <br /> ✓ Contact & Schedule any Presenters ahead of time to include in your syllabus (i.e. <br /> Financial Literacy Presenter and Laura's House) <br /> TRAINING <br /> Case Manager Assignment <br /> Employment Readiness Specialists/Coordinators assigns their case load of trainees to <br /> themselves at the start of each new cohort. See Apricot Guide for further details. <br /> Creating Goals <br /> The purpose in setting goals with trainees is to help drive them toward improved workforce <br /> readiness. As noted in the intake section, prior to intake Employment Readiness <br /> Specialist/Coordinator reviews trainees IRIS assessment survey in addition to the information <br /> gathered at the intake. The Employment Readiness Specialist/Coordinator will create a IRIS <br /> goal and Workforce Readiness goal. The IRIS goal is based on the trainees IRIS assessment. <br /> In addition, to creating a IRIS goal the Employment Readiness Specialist/Coordinator should <br /> work collaboratively with the trainee to determine what the trainee needs to address to improve <br /> workforce preparedness and together will create a Workforce Readiness goal. <br /> 14 <br />
