D 24 hour, 7 days a week availability. <br />D Response time to the Santa Ana Jail will be 30-45 minutes. <br />D Licensed staff will provide crisis intervention and evaluation of <br />inmates demonstrating behaviors and/or symptoms related to <br />psychiatric distress, i.e., severe depression and psychotic episodes <br />D The CHCM Mobile Response Team will continue to provide <br />evaluation of persons for 5150 Hold when appropriate and <br />facilitate transfer of clients to designated psychiatric facility. This <br />service will continue to be operated in compliance with Orange <br />County Health Care Agency policies and procedures outlined in <br />the Mobile Psychiatric Assessment Team Standards of Practice. <br />If a Federal Hold inmate is found to be acutely mentally disturbed, as well <br />as a danger to self and/or others, and/or gravely disabled, he will be <br />transferred to an inpatient psychiatric facility by the contracting agency. <br />Suicide prevention services will include assessment (as outlined above), <br />intervention, and treatment by members of the mental health and medical <br />staff. The scope of intervention services will include close observation, <br />suicide watch, emergency medications, and therapeutic restraints. <br />Appropriate use of osvchotropie medications- <br />The psychiatrist and/or the physician will prescribe psychotropic <br />medications for the sole purpose of treatment of mental and emotional <br />disorders. Medications will be administered on a voluntary basis unless <br />the psychiatrist declares an emergency situation. <br />With the exception of emergency situations, the psychiatrist will provide <br />patient education at the time the medication is prescribed.
