BUDGET NARRATIVE for Taller San Jose <br />1. Identify the percentage of budget that will go directly to youth (work experience <br />payments, direct training, supportive services, etc.) versus the percentage of overhead <br />and administrative costs. (ex: 50% of budget will be directly spent on youth in the form of <br />work experience and training). <br />94 %, or $74,788 of the $80,000 requested WIA funds, will be directly spent on youth in the <br />form of participant training stipends and personnel expenses in the provision of direct <br />training and supportive services. Based on past experience with WIA funding, and due to <br />the complex and time - intensive nature of WIA reporting, funds have been primarily <br />allocated towards staff expenses as a way to efficiently reduce administrative costs in <br />program delivery and reporting for the organization. <br />2. Include a detailed narrative that outlines each line item listed on the Budget Form. <br />Personnel Expenses <br />Director of Student Services - Karyn Mendoza - 8% <br />Karyn ensures a continuum of service from application to job /education placement for <br />students enrolled in training programs. She oversees all components of Taller San Jose's <br />programs, including technical skills training, case management, employment and <br />education pathways. <br />Case Manager - Michelle Delacio - 60% <br />As the WIA- dedicated case manager, Michelle will provide ongoing one -on -one supportive <br />services and mentoring to students enrolled in the WIA- funded program. She will also be <br />the primary liaison with the WIA staff and handle all reporting requirements. <br />Enrollment Specialist - Angie Rodriguez - 21% <br />Angie interviews each applicant to determine eligibility for admission and assesses youth <br />barriers and motivation for enrolling in the program. <br />Employment Services Manager - Meghan Medlin -16% <br />Meghan provides ongoing employment training and coaching to youth in order to help <br />them transition into employment successfully. She maintains relationships with employers <br />of youth once they have been placed into jobs and works to ensure that youth retain and <br />advance their employment. <br />Medical Careers Academy (MCA) Program Manager - Martha Guzman - 16% (in -kind <br />Martha oversees the Medical Careers Academy program and youth training. <br />Construction and Green Technology Academy (CTA) Program Instructor, Armando <br />Gonzales - 30% (in -kind <br />EXHIBIT G <br />
